Intellitouch Tuner
for
Guitar, Bass, Fiddle, Mandolin, Banjo
Is there anyone who has NOT seen these in use?
I seriously can't recall going to any kind of live music event
anytime in the past several years and NOT having seen everyone
using these clip-on tuners.
Go to an open mic, jam fest, bluegrass festival or anyplace with
live music and look at the headstocks of the guitars/banjos/mandolins,
or at the bridges of the upright basses. You'll no doubt see an Intellitouch.
They work on nearly any kind of instrument.
Acoustic and electric guitars, electric basses, upright basses, banjos,
violins/fiddles/violas/cellos, mandolins/mandolas/mandocellos/octave mandolins,
anything that you can clip the tuner to, you can tune using this Intellitouch tuner.
Here's some assorted instruments, with the intellitouch in use -

Using the Intellitouch is simple.
Clip the tuner to the headstock/scroll/bridge,
wherever it fits on your instrument.
Push one button and the tuner comes on.
The LCD readout works in bright light OR in complete darkness
or anywhere inbetween. It automatically senses the ambient light
and adjusts the brightness of the readout. No manual setting is necessary.
Then simply play/pick/bow any note on any string.
The tuner will quickly sense the note and show you a
LARGE READOUT
of the note. Arrows on both sides of the note indicate
if the note is flat or sharp. Simply twiddle your tuning pegs/machines
until the arrows indicate you are in tune.
Tune to other than A=440.
If you or your band/orchestra tune to any kind of
non-standard tuning reference, the Intellitouch will accomodate it.
You can manually adjust it to a reference other than 440
- OR -
you can tell the tuner to LEARN the new reference.
To do that, tune your instrument to the desired, non-standard pitch
then put the tuner in LEARN mode. Play a note and the tuner will re-set
itself to that new tuning reference. It will keep it's settings
even when turned off. Re-set it to standard A=440 any time you like.
The batteries seem to last literally forever.
My personal Intellitouch has been in VERY frequent use,
daily, for over five years. I have never needed to
change the batteries. The tuner shuts itself off
after a short time in use to conserve battery life.
It works REGARDLESS of ambient noise.
The Intellitouch picks up the vibration of the note
through physical contact with the instrument. It does not
rely on any kind of microphone. It does not require any kind
of electrical connection to the instrument. You can silently
tune your guitar or other instrument while a screaming rock band
is blaring away right next to you. It only picks up the vibrations
that your instrument produces.
How cool is that!
