Remember me from the 60s and 70s?
Well, you probably don't remember or have any idea who I am/was at all.
But I pretty much guarantee you've heard me on some radio or TV commercial.
I've played fretted instruments professionally for 40+ years.
And for about half of those 40 years I did voiceover parts,
and sang, on thousands of radio and TV commercials and TV shows
that came out of the Hollywood studios. I was the Tidy Bowl man, the
Ken-L-Ration St Bernard and one of the "You Got It, Toyota!" jingle singers.
I did a gazillion radio station air checks, EBS warnings, phone company recordings,
it's a pretty endless list.
I spent essentially my entire day in the recording studios,
reading parts, singing, re-reading, re-singing...using my voice. And this was in the 60s
and 70s when everybody (else) smoked cigarettes at work, on the job, at their desks.
Musicians, engineers, even singers, would smoke in the freakin' studio! Sheesh!
Then when the studio day was finished, being young and full of energy, I'd go out and
do stand up comedy and impersonations and sing all night long.
My voice, my throat, my oronasal pharynx (Ooo!) got a workout.
It got tired. It got irritated and hoarse. In those days there wasn't a very simple way to
sooth your throat. There were cough drops. those were mostly sugar and alcohol,
and sometimes they had menthol or even lido/benzocaine. Those weren't very effective.
The sugar and alcohol ended up making your throat even more dry and rough.
There were sprays. Those were essentially mouthwash. Spraying Listerine
or Cepacol into your mouth and throat gave you a blast of something wet.
But they still had a lot of alcohol. They were designed to kill germs for heaven's sake!
It was my voice telling you how Listerine "kills germs that can cause bad breath".
And MY VOICE was getting rough and dry because of doing the commercial!
How's that for irony?..:-)

YOU NEED THIS STUFF!
I wish I'd had it 35 years ago!
Using it is Simple!
Use the pump spray bottle to direct two sprays into your mouth.
Then relax a couple of minutes while it sooths your throat.
Then get back to work!
It tastes good! Really! That, and the fact that the ingredients are
all natural and organic, and there's no alcohol, is the reason I chose
to use this brand, and why I sell it. My vocal students use it. My seminar
giving girlfriend Donna uses it. It's simple. It costs about a quarter per use.
Will it
Make Bob Dylan sound like Pavoratti
Oh, hell no. It's a freakin throat spray.
It would take a major miracle to make Dylan sound better.
But it WILL make your throat feel better. It's got a lot of Echinacea in it so
maybe it will help you fight off a cold. The wild herbs are "Ethically harvested".
I'm not sure what that means. Maybe they don't torture or violate the rights
of the plants. Maybe they hire people from all ethnic groups to do the harvesting.
Ok, seriously. I suppose it has something to do with not cutting down the entire forest
just to pick the little ginger root.
Try this stuff and let me know how you like it!
