These are the only mando strings I use.

These are medium gauge
Phosphor Bronze mandolin strings, 11-15-26-40.

But!

These are SP (Studio Performance) style strings.

If you've purchased strings from me previously
you probably know how I'm a huge fan of Martin SP strings.
I've used SP's on my guitars for years.
Now they're available for Mandolins!
Yipee!

SP style strings are different than
normal Phosphor Bronze strings.

The plain wires, and the core wires of the wound strings, are
coated with bronze instead of being plain Swedish steel.
This gives the strings a gorgeous golden color and it increases string life.
The bronze coating also helps the strings to sound "warmer"
than plain steel or nickel.

on all my professionally played instruments.

I'm always experimenting with Mandolin strings.
I've been using these SP strings since the first day they became available.
Since that day I've continued to experiment with lots of string
brands and styles, but for performance or recording,
I use these SP4460s exclusively.
